Following the success of the original Urban Design Compendium on the design of quality schemes, studio | REAL was selected to write a second Compendium on how such quality places can be delivered. Leading a team which also included ARUP, Urban Delivery and XCO2 we researched and reviewed over 200 national and international case studies in drawing up our advice. The book and accompanying website www.urbandesigncompendium.co.uk were launched in September 2007 and have been an immediate success. Copies have been distributed to over 137 countries worldwide to date. We continue to work with HCA to update the website and add new case studies on a regular basis.
