Havant Public Realm Design Framework

Havant was identified as one of three pilot authorities in the South of England to receive Liveability Fund Grants from the ODPM. These grants were provided to test new approaches for tackling public open space and local liveability issues. The authority’s successful bid included an indicative capital programme based around key themes to move towards the achievement of a high quality public realm and image for the Borough.

studio | REAL were commissioned by Havant Borough Council to undertake a borough-wide study, the aim of which was to identify different types of places, streets and spaces, highlight key issues and provide a clear framework to guide their future enhancement. The study considered not only short-term enhancement opportunities that can be funded through the Liveability scheme, but also those that may be implemented in the medium and longer terms.
