September | Lecture at Sheffield University - Working with design codes and regeneration

Director of Urban Design Karl Kropf was invited by the URSULA project at Sheffield University to give the first seminar in a series by different speakers focusing on urban river corridors. Karl discussed the lessons learnt from the experience of producing the Design Code for the Rotherham Town Centre River Corridor as well as another riverside regeneration scheme in Towcester, Northamptonshire. The Rotherham Code, one of only eight CABE pilot projects to be formally adopted and actively applied, provides significant insights into the issues of delivering regeneration in an urban riverside environment.

URSULA is the Urban River Corridors and Sustainable Living Agendas project, a joint effort between the Universities of Sheffield, Bradford and Durham with other partners and supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
